About the Position: The Center is seeking a dynamic, innovative and experienced Marketing & Events Manager who will play a key role in further raising the Center's profile as the leading global legal and policy expert in the reproductive health and rights space by enhancing existing signature events and develop an event marketing strategy to achieve organizational and fundraising objectives.  We are looking for someone who is nimble, creative and highly organized who is inspired and motivated by the Center's mission.  This person will be responsible for conceiving an event marketing strategy that is integrated with the overall communications and marketing strategy and create compelling events and develop relationships with key partners in the conference and events industry relevant to the Center's mission. 

The ideal candidate thinks outside the box and is able to identify appropriate opportunities for the Center's spokespeople, has deep experience maintaining and managing strong relationships among various stakeholders, and actively identifies event marketing and promotion opportunities.

This position will be based in New York City.


  • Deliver world class event programs that drive successful results against strategic objectives, organizational and fundraising goals
  • Work in close collaboration with communications and program staff to conceive and produce small- and large-scale events for current and potential supporters globally, occasionally with partners and at existing conferences and other institutions
  • Develop integrated strategies for each event type from initial planning to on-site event management and post-event follow up
  • Closely monitor current events and generate original ideas for events
  • Bring together cross-functional teams to deliver all event-related tasks under tight deadlines, including: content development, event offers and promotions, email campaigns and landing pages, and sales outreach and engagement
  • Run pre- and post-event planning meetings and communications including event staffing, speaker management, agendas, on-site needs, and sales preparation.
  • Manage all event logistics; develop comprehensive work plans, including schedules, timelines, key milestones and deliverables to help coordinate cross-functional teams towards achievements
  • Manage event calendar and identify future opportunities
  • Work with Marketing Director, Media and Digital teams to promote events
  • Identify opportunities for potential partners
  • Track and report on key event status metrics throughout the event cycle; secure and be point of contact for vendors; review contracts
  • Evaluate event performance, including lead and ROI tracking and deliver wrap-up reports that demonstrate how events are meeting business goals.

  • Bachelor's degree
  • At least 5+ years of successfully leading strategy and executing events, preferably for a media or advocacy organization
  • Strong understanding of event strategy, operations, and integrated event marketing
  • Extensive experience producing small- and large-scale events as well as working as an effective partner; experience working in a fast-paced environment and execute multiple events with competing priorities
  • Deep knowledge and experience in event production
  • Strong sales and customer service skills
  • Strong communications skills; strong interpersonal, leadership, problem-solving, and a calm, diplomatic demeanor even in times of intense pressure
  • Exceptional program, project, and time management skills; highly organized, detail focused, results-driven, ability to handle stress and last-minute, urgent requests
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced work environment
  • Demonstrated experience event ROI reporting; hands-on experience with CRM and marketing automation platforms
  • Take full ownership of event experience and production, including flawless onsite execution of the events, including registration, housing, infrastructure, production coordination, budgets, and vendor management
  • A resourceful, self-driven work ethic, with initiative and a can-do attitude.
  • Desire to thrive in rapid growth, fast-paced environment and adapts well to change, and can act with urgency
  • Must be willing to travel and work flexible hours; ability to travel within and outside the U.S. as needed
  • English language fluency required; Spanish language fluency is a plus.
