The Center seeks a highly-qualified Associate to support the work of the Human Resources team. This position will report to the incoming Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) and will support the Human Resources team including the Senior Manager, Global Compensation & Benefits and Senior Manager, Talent & Organizational Development.

This position will be based in New York City.  


Primary job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Support the work of the Human Resource Team (CHRO, Senior Managers) in fulfilling their job responsibilities;
  • Create, update, maintain and file confidential personal records including the creation of new files and the appropriate filing and scanning of relevant documents;
  • Maintain HR driven materials on SharePoint and for the organization broadly including: online emergency contact list, alumni list, suggestion box, org charts, HR forms and employee information;
  • Post new job openings via the website & ATS; including posting positions via paid ads and social media as directed;
  • Support the Talent team with new offer paperwork, background checks, verification requests and visa/work permit requests coordinating with Finance, Accounting and other outside consultants as needed;
  • Track resumes as appropriate via the ATS and facilitate ATS data requests as requested;
  • Assist with benefits enrollment and in the research of new benefit initiatives;
  • Assist with the Summer Internship Program providing project level support including new hire orientation, offer letters and timesheets;
  • Provide project level support for HR initiatives including Safe Space, Community Committee, Pride Parade, Staff Luncheons and other events;
  • Draft monthly health and wellness emails to all staff;
  • Draft monthly jobs email to all staff and alumni;
  • Reconcile monthly billing statements, process invoices for short term disability and create PRFs for invoices to be paid as appropriate;
  • Assist with mailings, scheduling and general administrative tasks for the team;
  • Facilitate processing of contracts, credit card statements and basic budget tracking; and
  • Provide other assistance to support the department as needed.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Strong commitment to the Center's mission, purpose, and values;
  • Bachelor's degree required;
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of relevant experience;
  • Strong systems aptitude;
  • Strong writing, proofreading, and editing skills;
  • Prior HR experience a plus;
  • Interest in HR career pathway desired (in talent management, organizational development or HR benefits/policies);
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint required; experience with SharePoint, Visio, webinar management, ATS systems, Salesforce, Convio, or other CRMs a plus;
  • Very detail-oriented with strong organizational skills;
  • Ability to work collaboratively, to multi-task, and to work under pressure;
  • Office experience required; and
  • Experience with reproductive rights issues or a familiarity with other issues relating to women's equality, human rights, civil rights, or racial and social justice issues is highly desirable.
